Some wiring may vary however this is the most common wiring scenario for a 120 volt light fixture.

Light fixtures with more than one lamp may have a pair of black and white wires for each lamp.

Wire the switch install a bulb and test.
Make sure the power source is turned off.
Fold the wires into the box and install the fixture onto the mounting bolts.
Support the fixture with a wire coat hanger.
Exterior light fixtures do not require gfci protection.
However it s likely that the light fixture was mounted in the middle of a stud cavity which makes mounting a box that can support the weight of the fixture more difficult.
Several types of remodeling boxes can do the job but we recommend a 2 x 3 in metal remodeling box that s 2 1 2 in deep for fixtures up to about 6 lbs.
